Jean-Philippe Tripet, CFA, is founder and Chairman of Aravis. Aravis employs 7 investment professionals in Zürich. Jean-Philippe is also the founder of swissfund, a project offering institutional investors direct investments in Growth and Venture firms in Switzerland.
During his career, Jean-Philippe has performed and supervised over 100 investments in private companies in the USA, Europe and Asia, many as lead investor. He has developed experience as an international bank executive, private equity investor, portfolio manager and as a financial analyst since 1988. He was in particular, active in seeding and founding of some of the most successful Swiss biotech companies such as Glycart, Cytos, Modex-Isotis, Esbatech, Evolva, Symetis, Telormedix and Novimmune.
Jean-Philippe is a member of the Executive Committee of the Swiss Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (SECA) and the current Lead of the Venture Chapter.
Prior to founding Aravis, he was a Senior Executive Vice-President and Head of Sector asset management and research at Lombard Odier & Cie, Geneva and a member of the Group Executive Committee of the bank. Before that, he was vice-President, Equity Research at UBS in Zurich and London.
He has a degree in business administration from the University of Geneva, did graduate studies in finance in San Diego, California and is a Chartered Financial Analyst, vintage 1993.
